The CCS Time and Attendance System (TAS) recently replaced one client's manual timekeeping system. Before TAS, a mechanical timeclock recorded employee workhour data on paper timecards. Project data was handwritten on the same cards. Once a week the payroll data was keyed into a payroll system, while project data was entered into a project tracking system.

Today, TAS Scan Stations placed throughout the facility collect data using barcode scanners. Supervisors now have real-time access to this data. Following review and validation, supervisors submit the data directly to payroll, where it is automatically assembled into a payroll batch import file. A similar process transfers data to the project tracking system.

Thanks to TAS, this client has eliminated paper timecards and stopped manual entry of payroll and project tracking data. In addition, they have more reliable data for comparing actual hours worked with project estimates.
